Speak Up is the Group’s whistleblowing framework, providing a confidential or anonymous channel for colleagues, suppliers, contractors, and third parties to report concerns they feel unable to raise through their manager.

All concerns are taken seriously and treated sensitively. Where investigations are required, these are carried out by highly trained and empathetic investigators. Anyone reporting a concern or involved in an investigation is supported throughout the process, and we are committed to preventing and addressing any form of retaliation resulting from someone raising a Speak Up concern.

Who administers the Speak Up reporting channels?

If you have witnessed or suspect wrongdoing, there are several ways to report your concerns*. This includes the Report Online and Report by Phone channels, which are operated by a third party outside the Group, NAVEX. They provide you with a safe and secure way to report your concerns, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The most efficient way to report your concerns is Online.

What happens after I report my concern via Speak Up?

All concerns reported via NAVEX will be passed to the Lloyds Banking Group Conduct Investigations team for review and further investigation where appropriate.

When you submit a new report, you will receive a Report Key and password. You can provide further information and receive updates on the progress of your report through NAVEX’s secure reporting channels using the Follow Up option, or directly with Group Conduct Investigations if you provide your contact details.

What is the difference between confidential and anonymous reporting?

Raising a concern confidentially means that the Group Conduct Investigations Team (GCI) is aware of your identity but they will not disclose it to anyone else without your consent, or unless required to by law (which is rare).

Raising a concern anonymously means that nobody within Lloyds Banking Group knows your identity. If you choose to remain anonymous it is important that you retain the unique reference number and password provided at the time of reporting your concerns so that Group Conduct Investigations can reach you (via NAVEX) to ask any further questions, and to provide updates.

Can I report my concern to the regulators? *

You may raise your concerns directly with our regulators the Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulatory Authority. If you are based outside of the UK, there may also be other regulators or external reporting bodies available for your jurisdiction.
