Through our internal reporting system SpeakUp, we strive to create a safe environment where employees and other stakeholders feel safe to raise genuine concerns in good faith without fear of retaliation, even if they turn out to be mistaken.

What to know before reporting?


Why should I use SpeakUp?

We are committed to creating an environment where open, honest communications are the norm and not just an expectation. We want you to feel comfortable in approaching your supervisor or management in instances where you believe violations of policies or standards have occurred.

However, we also understand that in some cases that may not be easy. EssilorLuxottica SpeakUp is an alternative and complementary tool, allowing you to report your concerns through a platform hosted by a third party, and giving you the possibility to report concerns anonymously (where permitted) and confidentially.

Who can use SpeakUp?

SpeakUp is open to all employees of the EssilorLuxottica Group, employees of our suppliers and subcontractors, and to other stakeholders as defined in our Reporting Policy.

What type of issue can I report?

You can report any crime or offense, human right violations or any serious breach of our Code of Ethics, even if it is just a suspicion. It is the responsibility of each employee to speak up and support our ethical commitments.

However, SpeakUp is not a helpdesk or (except in the USA) an employee grievance tool. It cannot be used for reports relating to your own personal circumstances, such as professional appreciation, other than discrimination or harassment. It cannot be used for consumer complaints.

Do I have to identify myself?

Your identification makes the investigation process easier and facilitates with giving feedback. However, you may choose to raise a concern anonymously, provided that anonymous reporting is allowed by the laws of the country where you work.

Will my concern be treated confidentially?

Any person in charge of receiving and treating the reports, including NAVEX staff, are bound by strong confidentiality obligations. EssilorLuxottica will not disclose your name with anyone without your consent, unless legally required to do so.

To optimize confidentiality, all written communications between you and us should be conducted through the EssilorLuxottica SpeakUp platform.

Will my confidentiality be guaranteed if I report by phone?

Where available, phone hotlines are operated by an independent third-party operator who will take note of the case details and will re-transcribe it in the hotline, and anonymity (where allowed) and confidentiality are fully preserved. EssilorLuxottica neither has access to, nor traces the phone call with the operator.

Do not disconnect before having taken note of your report key, otherwise you will not be able to follow up.

How will I get feedback on my concern?

The results of the investigation may be provided to you to the extent that it is appropriate and can be given without infringing legal requirements or other duties of confidentiality. In order to file a report on the platform, you will have to enter an email address and choose a password for the report. After you complete your report, you will be assigned a unique code called a "report key." Write down your report key and password and keep them in a safe place. After a few business days, use your report key and password to check your report for feedback or questions.

If you report by phone, do not disconnect before having taken note of your report key, otherwise you will not be able to follow up.

Note that you will not receive emails and will need to connect to EssilorLuxottica SpeakUp by using your report key. Keeping all communications through the platform helps protect the confidentiality of your report.

Will I be penalized For raising a concern?

EssilorLuxottica has a strong non-retaliation policy: if you raise a concern in good faith, you will not be penalized, even if it turns out to be incorrect. If, however, you make malicious or vexatious allegations that turn out to be unfounded, disciplinary action may be taken against you.


  • To report online, you can use any e-mail address. You will have to use the same address to follow up.
  • Do not use your professional email address if you want to report anonymously.
  • Take note of your password and report key and keep them in a safe place.
  • To get feedback, connect again with your email address, your password and the report key.
  • If you report by phone, do not disconnect before having taken note of your report key.
