The British Council’s Speak Up service for reporting serious wrongdoing
NAVEX offers a confidential Speak Up service for British Council colleagues who feel unable to use our internal procedures to raise concerns about serious wrongdoing, and for those outside the organisation including stakeholders, partners, customers and suppliers.
The service allows you to raise concerns about:
- adults at risk
- children
- fraudulent activity
- harassment (including sexual harassment)
- significant breaches of our Code of Conduct
This service is not for raising issues related to English language exams results, delayed refunds, standard venue arrangements or exam procedures. For these issues, please contact our British Council customer services team who will be able to manage your issue more promptly.
There are three channels, available 24/7, to report your concerns – Online, QR Code or Phone. In countries where legally permissible, NAVEX provides the option to remain anonymous if you choose. To enable us to manage your concern more effectively we would prefer you provide your details, so direct follow-up can be made. However, the most important thing is that you speak up.
If you are an employee and your concern is about your working relationship with another employee, policy, or contractual issues we encourage you to first consider using Informal Resolution options, Grievance Policy or other applicable policies.
To learn more about the process refer to the FAQs section.
