6 Things you need to know about SpeakUp!

What is Speak Up?

SpeakUp is Grafton Group's reporting service for colleagues and anyone connected to the Group to report concerns when they have a reasonable belief of an occurrence of wrongdoing at work. This action, also commonly known as “whistleblowing”, involves an individual providing certain information to the company which has come to their attention through work. Please see our brand's websites for how to contact us to raise any customer service issues.

Who administers SpeakUp?

The SpeakUp Service is administered by an independent company (NAVEX). It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can accommodate reports in various languages including English and Dutch. When voicing your concerns, you have the option to remain anonymous.

Who else can I speak to?

Grafton Group encourages colleagues to raise any concerns they have with their line manager in the first instance. If you do not feel comfortable speaking to your line manager, you can raise your concern with another member of management, your CEO, your local HR business partner, Loss Prevention or Internal Audit. Alternatively, if you wish to speak to someone from outside of the Group you can raise your concern via the SpeakUp service.

What happens after I contact Speak Up?

Once you report your concerns via the phone or web, you will receive a report key and password which can be used to follow up on your submission. Each situation that has been reported will be investigated in accordance with Grafton Group's SpeakUp policy. The Group Internal Audit team will either investigate your concern directly or pass on the concern to be investigated by someone in the business. Where the investigation is conducted by the business, Group Internal Audit will monitor progress and review the outcome to ensure the investigation has been conducted properly.

What is Grafton Group's stance on retaliation?

Grafton Group does not tolerate retaliation against anyone for making a genuine report. We consider acts of retaliation to be misconduct. Our commitment to such is stated in our Policy. We seek to provide a safe, healthy and productive workplace for our colleagues and associates. Every report of retaliation is thoroughly investigated.

Are reports to Speak Up secure and confidential?

Grafton Group uses NAVEX’s EthicsPoint case management application to support the administration of SpeakUp. EthicsPoint is hosted on NAVEX’s secure servers and is not part of Grafton Group’s website or intranet. Any report you make will be kept confidential to the fullest extent possible. Where you do make your identity known when raising a wrongdoing concern, you can assume that only those individuals investigating the concern will know your identity.
