About EthicsLine

What is EthicsLine?

EthicsLine is ICON’s ‘Speak Up, Speak Out’ global helpline. It is a confidential channel through which you can ask questions and raise concerns online or by phone about ethics, compliance or ICON’s Global Code of Ethical Conduct. See ICON’s Speak Up Policy for further information.

Who administers EthicsLine?

EthicsLine is administered by an independent company (NAVEX), is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can accommodate calls in more than 75 languages. You have the option to remain anonymous, where allowed by local law.

Who else can I Speak Up to?

ICON encourages you to Speak Up via the channel you are most comfortable. In addition to EthicsLine, you can Speak Up to your line manager, another member of management, a relevant supporting function such as legal or HR, or by emailing legalcompliance@iconplc.com.

What happens after I submit a report?

Once you submit a question or concern via EthicsLine, you will receive a report key and password which can be used to follow up on your submission. An electronic summary is sent to a Case Manager in ICON’s Legal Compliance and Ethics team for review and to determine further action. You may be contacted to provide further information or to help clarify issues.

What information should I give when I share a concern?

Whether you share a concern online or by phone, you will be asked the same questions. Please help us by answering all of the questions as fully as possible, particularly questions about which part of ICON’s business your concern relates to. Detailed answers help us to fully investigate the matter.

Are reports secure and confidential?

Yes. EthicsLine uses NAVEX's EthicsPoint case management application which is hosted on NAVEX's secure servers and is not part of ICON’s website or Intranet. Any report you make will be kept confidential to the fullest extent possible consistent with law and good business practices.

What is ICON’s stance on retaliation?

ICON does not tolerate retaliation to Speaking Up. We consider any act of retaliation in response to Speaking Up to be serious misconduct. Our commitment to such is stated in our Codes. We seek to provide a safe, healthy and productive workplace for our employees and our business partners who assist us in our business operations. Any report of retaliation to Speaking Up will be thoroughly investigated.
