Our Commitments
To our HI employees and members
HI is an organization with strong values of responsibility and integrity. HI is committed to an environment where open, honest communications are the expectation, not the exception. We want you to feel comfortable in approaching your supervisor or management in instances where you believe violations of policies or standards have occurred.
In complement to the management lines, HI has set up a confidential reporting mechanism named EthicsPoint and hosted by a third-party hotline provider. It aims at:
- Provide a safe option to those who wish to send reports without going through the hierarchical line,
- Centralize incident reports to enable supervision by head office,
- Offer a high level of security and protection for information, and therefore confidentiality. As such, no one named in a report will be informed, regardless of their position, in the field or at head office.
So don't hesitate. Together, we can better protect people, our resources, and our values.
Report any unethical act. All reports will be treated with the utmost attention.
For partners and suppliers
We want you to feel comfortable in approaching the HI manager or representative responsible for the contract between you and HI, in instances where you believe violations of policies or professional standards have occurred. Anyway, in case of difficulty you are encouraged to use this system, on a totally confidential basis.
To the beneficiaries of our activities.
Complaints about our presence and activities in countries of intervention should first and foremost be addressed locally, to HI representative, managers and focal points (in charge of protection, for example). Do not hesitate to call on them, in complete confidentiality. This is the fastest way to get an answer to your expectations. However, if you have difficulty communicating your complaints locally, feel free to use the EthicsPoint system.
See the EthicsPoint FAQs for more information.
To Make a Report
This whistleblowing mechanism should not be used to submit, reactivate or track job applications. No follow-up will be given to this type of request.
After you complete your report you will be assigned a unique code called a "report key." Write down your report key and password and keep them in a safe place. After 5-6 business days, use your report key and password to check your report for feedback or questions.
