Frequently Asked Questions

What is Saab’s whistleblowing hotline?

It is a global reporting channel that allows you to confidentially ask questions about business ethics issues or report suspected violations of Saab’s Code of Conduct.

How is confidentiality maintained?

The information you submit will be kept confidential to the fullest extent possible. For that reason the hotline platform is hosted by an independent company, NAVEX, outside Saab’s IT environment. Only authorized persons have access to the system and the information is subject to data protection rules and regulations. The system does not trace phone calls or generate or maintain any internal connection logs with IP addresses.

Can I report anonymously?

If local law permits, you may remain anonymous, but Saab encourages you to identify yourself to facilitate an investigation.

Is this true also if I chose to report by phone?

Yes, you will be asked to provide the same information as if the report was filed online. The interviewer will type your responses directly into the secure hotline platform. Your report will be afforded the same security and confidentiality as online reports.

Where do the reports go?

Reports are forwarded to specific investigators within Saab who are assigned to review and evaluate them and to manage subsequent investigations in accordance with established protocols. The investigation will be kept confidential to the fullest extent possible.

What should you report?

The hotline allows you to report suspected violations of Saab’s Code of Conduct, or to ask questions about business ethics.

I am not sure if what I have observed is a violation of the Code of Conduct, but it just does not look right to me. What should I do?

File a report. Saab would rather you report a situation that turns out to be harmless than let possible violations of the Code of Conduct go unchecked. Reporting violations is key to building trust and promoting a strong culture of integrity.

What if my manager is involved in a violation?

You are still encouraged to report. Neither your manager, nor any other implicated person, will have access to your report. However, local laws may require that implicated persons are notified of reports. If so, notification will not be automated but take place under a protocol that protects the confidentiality and integrity of the investigation.

Can I face retaliation for reporting?

Saab does not tolerate retaliation. Indeed, we consider acts of retaliation to be a violation of Saab’s Code of Conduct. If you believe you have faced retaliation, please report it so we can investigate.

What if the violation took place in another country than where I am employed?

The deciding factor is in which country the violation occurred.

What if I remember something important after I file the report?

When you file a report you receive a unique, randomized number called a report key and are asked to choose a password. With these you can return to the system again and access the original report to add more detail or answer questions posed by a company representative.

Are there any restrictions to the use of the whistleblowing hotline?

In some countries, local laws restrict what may be reported through the system. The system will notify you if and when a report cannot be filed.

How can I report where the whistleblowing hotline cannot be used?

If a report cannot be filed, Saab encourages you to speak with your manager, human resource representative or an Ethics and Compliance Officer.

Can I follow up what happens to my report and remain anonymous?

Yes, after you have submitted your report, the system will provide you with a unique report key and ask you to choose a password. Write them down and keep them in a safe place. They can be used to check your report for feedback or track the answer to your question.

What if I lose my report key or forget the password I created?

To ensure that security and confidentiality is maintained, if you lose your report key or password, you will need to file a new report. Please, mention in the new report that it is related to a previous report or question.
